With reference to your despatch No 17 of the 13th of September in which you suggest that the Provisions and Stores required for Her Majesty's Ships should be sent direct from this Country to Vancouver's Island, and that Store Houses for their reception should be erected at Port Esquimalt, I have to acquaint you that havingreferredManuscript image referred this despatch to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, their Lordships have instructed Rear Admiral Bruce to furnish a report on the subject.
