I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Mr Merivale's letter of the 19th Instant, notifying your approval of the instructions proposed to be given to Governor Douglas to dispose of the tract of land on Vancouver's Island, known as the "Governor's Reserve," and I beg to acquaint you that directions for the sale of the land will accordingly be transmitted to Governor Douglas by the earliest opportunity.
