Sir,
Referring to my despach No 8 of the 26th Ulto, I transmit to you herewith a Warrant under the Royal Sign Manual authorizing you to pass Letters Patent under the Public Seal of Vancouvers Island appointing Mr David Cameron to the Office of Chief Justice of that Colony.

You will call upon Mr Cameron for the sum of one pound ten shillings, the value of the Stamp on the enclosed Warrant, and remit the amount to Mr Smith, the Chief Clerk of my office.
