I have to acknowledge your Despatch, No 11, of the 19th May last, on the subject of the assistance which you had afforded to Governor Stevens in repressing the Indian War inAmericanManuscript image American Oregon, and to inform you that Her Majesty's Government consider your conduct on this occasion to have been most judicious.
