Smith informs the Colonial Office that he has received Merivale’s letter “with the accompanying Bag” and will forward it to Douglas by the HMS “Princess Royal.”
Mr W.G. Smith begs to acknowledge the receipt of Mr
Merivale's letter of the 8th Inst., with the accompanying Bag to the
address of the Governor of Vancouver's Island, and to acquaint him that
the bag will be forwarded to Governor Douglas by the Hudson's Bay
Company's ship "Princess Royal," to sail early in September.
