I have to inform you that the Queen has appointed Captain Prevost, of Her Majesty's Ship "Satellite", and Captain Richards of Her Majesty's Ship "Plumper" to be Her Majesty's First and Second Commissioners for marking out a portion of the boundarybetweenManuscript image between the British Possessions in North America and the United States, under the 1st Article of the Treaty of Washington of June 15th, 1846, namely, the maritime position of that boundary between VanCouver's Island and the Mainland and that those Officers will proceed forthwith to VanCouver's Island where Captain Prevost will be able to ascertain where the Commissioners of the United States are to be met with; and I have to request you that you will afford themeveryManuscript image every facility in your power towards the execution of their duties.
