Labouchere writes to acknowledge the receipt of Douglas’s despatch concerning assistance arresting “Natives who had murdered an American citizen,” and approves of the “course which [he] adopted.”

Sir,
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No 25 of the 20th of October enclosing a copy of a letter from the Commander of the United States Steamer "Massachusetts" requesting your assistance in arresting certain Natives who had murdered an AmericanManuscript image Citizen, and I have to approve the course which you adopted on this occasion.
