Abstract
Despatch from London. Enclosures (untranscribed) (5).
Labouchere forwards a copy of a letter from the Foreign Office “relative to the repayment of a sum of money advanced by you to Governor Stevens for the prosecution of hostilities against the Indians.”
Enclosed are five documents concerning the repayment of an April 1856 loan Douglas issued Governor Stevens for the military defense of Washington State.

With reference to your despatch No. 29 of 31 October, I have to communicate to you, for your information the annexed copy of a letter from the Foreign Office relative to the repayment of a sum of money advanced by you to Governor Stevens for the prosecution of hostilities against the Indians.
