By direction of the Governor and Committee of the Hudson's Bay Company I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Mr Merivale's letter of the 12th Instant, with the accompanying copy of [a] letter from Mr G.P. Dawson, and I am to state that, in accordance with Mr Secretary Labouchere's request, that Gentleman has been furnished with the information which he requires in reference to the Colony of Vancouver's Island.
