I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Graces Despatch No 8 of the 11th August, transmitting for my guidance, Copy of correspondence from the Treasury and Board of Trade, respecting the manner in which payments should beManuscript imagebe made and accounts rendered, in regard to the Lighthouses in Fuca Strait, and at Esquimalt Harbour; and in reply thereto, I have the honor to acquaint Your Grace, that I have instructed the Treasurer in accordance therewith, and have authorized him to draw upon the Board of Trade in the manner pointed out, for the sum of Fifteen hundred pounds (£1,500) which is now required to complete payment for works in progress.Manuscript imageprogress.
