I have the honor of transmitting herewith for your Graces
               information, copy of my correspondence with the House of
               Assembly of 
Vancouvers Island, relative to the affairs of the
               Colony, up to the 
7th day of December December Instant
December Instant, when the
               Assembly was prorogued to the 
2nd day of February 1860.
               
               2.  Having addressed Her Majestys Government specially on the
               subject of each important measure referred to in the
               Correspondence herewith transmitted, as the same was brought
               before the Assembly, I will not take up your Graces time by
               further explanation or comment, on the present 
occasion
occasion.
               
               I beg however to inform Your Grace that the House of Assembly
               was dissolved on the 15th Instant by Proclamation, and that
               writs for a new Election will be issued without delay.
