With reference to your letter of the 22nd ulto: I am commanded by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to acquaint you that the Paymaster General has been authorized to accept and pay a Bill drawn by Mr W.D. Gosset, Acting Treasurer, Vancouver's Island for the sum of £280, being a further payment on account of Expenses at Vancouver's Island in consequence of the occupation of St Juan by the United States Troops.
