I am directed by Secretary Major General Peel to forward to you copies of a correspondence which has taken place between this Department and Governor Douglas regarding an account and vouchers in support of the expenditure incurred for the buildings erected at Vancouver Island for the North American Boundary Surveying Expedition.
I am to enclose copies of the only financial documents connected with this expenditure which have been received, and to request that you will move Secretary SirManuscript imageSir E.B. Lytton to request Governor Douglas to forward at an Early date the necessary vouchers in support of the several items which appear in those documents.
