With reference to your letter of the 5th Ulto relative to an expenditure of £2000 incurred by the Governor of Vancouver's Island in the provision of Barrack accommodation.
I am directed by Mr Secretary Herbert to request to be informed whether the Secretary of State for the Colonies anticipates any expenditure on this head at the above station during the next financial year, and if so, howManuscript imagehow it is intended to meet the charge.
