With reference to your letter of the 20th Instant and previous correspondence on the subject of Barrack Services at Vancouvers Island.
I am directed by Mr Secretary Herbert to request that you will have the goodness to move His Grace the Duke of Newcastle to cause instructions to be sent to the Governor of that Island to furnish the necessary details of the expenditure which has been incurred upon Barrack accommodation or upon other services which may be authorised by him whenManuscript imagewhen chargeable against Imperial funds.
