Sir,
I transmit herewith the copy of a note from the French Ambassador at this Court requesting that he may be furnished with information as to the fate of a French subject named Jean Baptiste Massenot who is stated to have arrived at Victoria, Vancouver's Island in June last. I have to request that you will furnish me with the information required by the Duc de Malakoff.
