I have the honor to forward for Your Grace's information the Report of a Journey to Fort Simpson, Queen Charlotte's IslandManuscript imageIsland, the Nass River, and other parts of the North West Coast, performed in the summer and autumn of 1859, by R.W. Torrens late Captain in Her Majesty's 55th Regiment, giving interesting descriptions of the Countries visited, with an account of their auriferous and mineral productions.
2. Mr Torrens is not in the service of, nor in any way connected with the Government; but has kindly placed his Report at my disposal for the information ofManuscript imageof Her Majesty's Government, for which he has received my warmest thanks.
