I have the honor of transmitting herewith for Your Grace's information, a Copy of my correspondence with the House of Assembly of this Colony, up to this date, and of the documents referred toManuscript imageto therein; none of which are of much importance, except the Abstract of the Hudson's Bay Company's Account with Her Majesty's Government for sums disbursed in this Country for and on account of Vancouver's Island Colony, since its first establishment.

I have carefully examined the Accounts. They show beyond a doubt that whatever else may be the case, we Manuscript imageare safe in making an advance of £25000 to the Company, since for the year 1859 alone they exhibited a prima facie balance of upwards of £17000 against the Government.
I think that it will be sufficient for the present to acknowledge the receipt of the despatch, but whenever our examiners renew their investigation they ought to be put in possession both of these accounts and of the one enclosed in No 58 of the 24 of November.
