I have laid before Earl Russell your letter of the 6th Instant and its Inclosures, and I am to request that you will state to the Duke of Newcastle, that Lord Russell concurs in the Despatch which His Grace addressed under date of the 3rd Instant to Governor Douglas respecting the retention of the Marines on the Island of San Juan.
