I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 23rd Ulto transmitting, by the desire of the Duke of Newcastle, for the consideration of the Lords of this Committee, a copy of a Despatch from the Governor of Vancouver Island and of an Act passed by the Legislature of that Colony, but reserved by the Governor for the approval of Her Majesty's Government, entitled "the Victoria Harbour Act 1860", and, in reply, I am to request that you will state to the Duke of Newcastle that my Lords see no objection to thefeesManuscript image fees which it is contemplated to impose under this Act upon Vessels entering and leaving the Port of Victoria.
