With reference to your letter of the 31st March last, I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade to state to you for the information of His Grace the Duke of Newcastle that the following stores for the use of the Lighthouses at Vancouvers Island have been forwarded to the Governor of that Colony in the ship "Prince of the Seas" which Vessel sailed from London on the 20th Instant vizt

1 Brush for smoke tube
2 quarts spirits of Wine
2 Mandrills
2 pair trimming Scissors
2 sets of flexible brushes
12 Balls cotton

Nos 87 to 110 - 24 Cases containing
72 doz. 3 Wick Chimnies

Fisgard Lighthouse

No 111 - 1 case containing 5 lbs polishing powder
32 yards concentric Wicks
1 doz. Leathers1 do.Manuscript image
1 dozen lens cloths
1 do plate glass cloths
1 quart spirits of Wine
1 Trimming Mandrill
2 pair trimming Scissors
1 set flexible brushes
6 Balls cotton

Nos 112 & 113 - 2 Cases containing
6 doz. 2 Wick chimnies

A Bill of lading of the stores shipped is enclosed herewith for the information of the Governor.
I am to add that My Lords will forward in a further letter a statement of the sums which have been paid for the supply and shipment of the stores in question in order that the Agents General may be instructed to repay the amount to the Board of Trade.

If it is desired that insurance should be effected for these stores My Lords request instructions to that effect, as it is not the practice of this Department to insure in similar cases.
