Sir,
I have the honor to transmit to you a copy of a letter from the Board of Trade containing an account of expenses incurred for the stores supplied to the Lighthouse in Vancouver Island referred to in my despatch No. 58 of the 30th of May 1861.
I have authorized theColonialManuscript image Colonial Agents, in the event of their having no funds in their hands to meet the expense, to pay the sum of 356-1-11 to the credit of the vote for Lighthouses abroad as an advance on account of your Government, and I have to instruct you to take immediate steps for reimbursing the Agents to the above extent.
