Bowring served as librarian and registrar for the British Board of Trade from 1848 - 1863.1 In this document, Bowring, on behalf of the Lords of the Committee of the Privy Council for Trade, informs the Under-Secretary of State that a disbursement has been made by his department. He requests that the amount be paid to Her Majesty’s Paymaster General to the credit of the Vote for Lighthouses abroad.
