Sir,
Referring to your letter of the 20th July 1861 transmitting copy of a despatch from the Governor of Vancouver's Island respecting the Lighthouses erected in Fucas Straits I am directed by the Lords of the Committee of Privy Council for Trade to observe that the final AccountswhichManuscript image which the Governor states in the last paragraph of his despatch will be forwarded, have not been received in this Office.
As My Lords are unable to settle the Accounts for the erection of these Lighthouses without the final Accounts from Vancouver's Island, I am to request that you will move His Grace the Duke of Newcastle to instruct the Governor to cause them to be transmitted to this Department as soon as possible.
