Sir,
The Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury have had before them your letter of the 15th of June last enclosing copy of a Despatch which His Grace the Duke of Newcastle proposes to address to Governor Douglas on the subject of the future constitutions of Vancouver Island & British Columbia, and respecting the Civil Lists of the two Colonies, and Their Lordships desire me to state for His Grace's information that They see no reason to object to the provisions embodied in the Despatch respecting the Civil Lists of the two Colonies in question.
