Sir,
In compliance with the directions contained in your letter of this date I have the honor to inform you for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell that the balance remaining in the hands of The Crown Agents for the Colonies belonging to the Vancouver Island Government is at present £7308:14:7, and that after paying the Bills referred to in your letter there will remain a sum of £3308:14:7 applicable to the General purposes of that Colony.
