With reference to my Despatch No. 61 of the 19th of December last, I transmit to you herewith the Queen's Warrant for the appointment of Mr. William Alexander George Young to be Colonial Secretary for the Island of Vancouver.
The Crown Agents for the Colonies have been instructed to pay to Mr. Gordon Gairdner the Chief Clerk of my Office, the sum of £1..10..0 being the price of the Stamp on the enclosed Warrant; and you will call on Mr. William Alexander George Young to repay this amount into the Colonial Treasury.
