No. 6, Miscellaneous
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch N
o 58
dated
1st November 1864 in which with reference to the Bills drawn
upon the Crown Agents for £4000 you call my attention to the
statement of the Treasurer that he proposed to draw those Bills
because the balance in the Treasury was insufficient to defray
current
expenditure expenditure.
The Treasurer informs me that the Bills in question were drawn for
the purpose of the reimbursing the Treasury for expenditure made
under the provisions of the "
Vancouver Island Road and Harbour Loan
Act."
Care will be taken that Bills drawn shall not exceed the total amount
of the Loan.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient Servant
A.E. Kennedy
Governor

Nothing requisite on this, I think.
