Sir,
I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to transmit herewith for the information of Mr Secretary Cardwell a Copy of a letter, dated the 3rd Decr last, No 58, from Rear Adml the Honble J. Denman, and of its enclosures, requesting the removal of Captain Bazalgette—in charge of the Detachment of Royal Marines at San Juan—in consequence of his proceedings in connection with the sloop "Random," and I am to state that my Lords do notconsiderManuscript image consider it expedient at present to remove Captain Bazalgette.
