Sir,
I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that the sum of Five pounds twelve shillings (£5.12.0) is due to the Captain of Her Majesty's Ship "Clio" on account of expenses incurred in the Entertainments specified overleaf, and I am to request that you will move Mr Secretary Cardwell to give directions for that amount to be transferred to the credit of Naval Funds in the hands of the Paymaster-General.

On the last occasion (see 1167) the expense of the Bishop's passage was defrayed from the funds of the Colony. Follow therefore the precedent in this instance with respect to the Bishop's passage & that of the Archdeacon, who probably accompanied the Bishop because his Services are requisite but can the public be properly charged with the expense of Mrs Hill's passage, tho' the amount is small?
