Sir,
I have the honor to transmit to you a copy of a letter from Mr. Young, the Colonial Secretary of Vancouver Island, requesting that in issuing his 1/2 salary during the period of his leave of absence, his full pay may becalculatedManuscript image calculated at the rate of £600 instead of £500 per annum. I also enclose a copy of the reply which I have directed to be returned to Mr. Young, and I have instructed the Crown Agents to furnish you with a statement of the whole amount paid to the Colonial Secy during his stay in this country.
