Active Pass is a narrow channel of ocean between Mayne Island and Galiano Island, East of Vancouver Island and north of Prevost Island. It was named after the USS Active, an American surveying vessel.1 The pass is used in the modern day as a route for the BC Ferries line between the
Schwartz Bay and Tsawwassen ferry terminals.2
