The Coquihalla flows southwest into the
Fraser River near
Hope, in the southern interior of
British Columbia. Several anglicized variants of what is, presumably, its First Nations name exist,
including Quequealla, Coquhalla, and Kwee Kwe ah la; by 1877, however,
George Dawson’s spelling of Coquihalla set the current naming standard.
