Frazer Island sits in
Becher Bay, on the southern end of
Vancouver Island. It was named after Thomas Frazer, who served with
Kellett in the first Anglo-Chinese War of 1840-41;
Kellett named the island while on a surveying mission in 1846, while aboard HMS
Herald.
