Mr. Hovey, gold miner. Possibly Richard Hovey, who in 1862 was fined £3 for assaulting
an Indigenous woman and was ordered to place an £80 bond to ensure his good behaviour
for six months. Six weeks later he was remanded to prison for three days for smashing
glasses in a saloon while drunk.
