jefferson_davisJefferson Davis was a topsail schooner and one of six US Revenue Cutters of the Cushing Class.1
It was named in 1853 for the then US Secretary of War and future President of the Confederate States of America, Jefferson Finis Davis. Its home port was Olympia.2
According to this despatch, USRC jefferson_davisJefferson Davis was commanded in 1855 by Commander Pease and was involved in a dispute with Douglas over the ownership of San Juan Island.
