Van Winkle Flat
Van Winkle Flat, a low, flat bar, is located on the west side of the Fraser River, just northwest of Lytton.1 According to this despatch, from 1861, Melodry and three other natives of Ireland who came to this Colony in the year 1858 mined the Flat for a very handsome income.
