I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of duplicate of your Despatch No 22 of the 23rd September last, transmitting a Warrant under the Royal Sign Manual, authorising me to pass Letters Patent under the Public Seal of British Columbia, appointingColonelManuscript image Colonel Moody to be Chief Commissioner of Lands and Works and I have to assure you in reply that those instructions will be duly carried into effect. 1
