Romaine to Carnarvon (Parliamentary Under-Secretary)

Sir,
I have received and laid before the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty your Lordship's letter of the 27th instant 1 enclosing one from Colonel Moody, R.E. respecting the Supply of Provisions to be shipped in the "Euphrates" for British Columbia.
Orders were given originally for twelve month's supply of Provisions to be shipped in the "Briseis," and upon that Vessel proving unable to convey them, the "Euphrates" was engaged under Colonial Office letter of the 11thinstantManuscript image instant, 2 to convey those Provisions and such War Office Stores as could not be shipped in the "Briseis."
I am to add that the necessary orders on the part of the Admiralty, have been already given.
