Sir,
I have the honour to request that Communications be made with the Transport Board to cause arrangements to be made on board the "Briseis" to receive one non Commissioned officer of Artillery and four of Royal Engineers with wives & children as per margin margin
5 women and 7 children under 10 years of age.
also for one Officer's servant (mine) not yet provided for. They are at present at Chatham and the arrangement should be made as speedily as possible.

PS) The Vessel is not adapted for the conveyance of troops in any number—but when on board with Lt Aldworth RN (one of the Deptford officers) we found it would be easily practicable to make arrangements to receive in the cabins the few Non Commissioned officers named above. RCM

Colonel Moody assures me that (the Admiralty Letter in 9516 notwithstanding) 1 the Transport Board, & the Deptford Authorities are willing to & can arrange for the reception on board the "Briseis" of these Non Commissioned Officers and Party. In reliance on the Colonel's assurance of its practicability write accly to the Admiralty.
