I have to acknowledge the receipt of your [Vancouver Island] Despatch, No 32 of the 25th of July last 1 reporting that you had authorized Captain Prevost to announce to the Companies of Her Majesty's Ship "Plumper" and "Satellite" that they would receive an allowance from the local Revenue equal to their rate of pay from the Crown, and I have to acquaint you that I approve, undertheManuscript image the circumstances, of the course you have taken.
