With reference to previous correspondence respecting the repayment of a sum of money1 advanced by you in 1856 to the Authorities of Washington Territory, I transmit for your information Copy of a furtherDespatchManuscript image Despatch from Her Majesty's Minister at Washington enclosing a Copy of the answer which he has received from the United States Secretary of State on the subject of this claim.
