Sir,
I am commanded by my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, to transmit herewith a statement of expenses incurred by the Naval Department on account of supplies of Provisions &ca to the Colony of British Columbia amounting to £5294.3.5, and to request that you will move His Grace the Duke of Newcastle to cause repayment to be made to the credit of Naval Services through Her Majesty's Paymaster General who has been requested to receive the amount.

There is an item for Stores, but the Estimate has not yet been voted. Answer that when that has taken place, payment will be ordered—and take some note of the case to ensure it's being attended to as soon as the Estimates are passed?
