With reference to your despatch N
o 151 of the
9th of May,
reporting that you have drawn Bills on the Treasury for £5000 to enable
Colonel Moody to meet the difficulty arising from the loss of the Stores
for
the the Royal Engineers that were destroyed in the "
Briseis," I have to
acquaint you that I have given directions that these Stores with the
exception of the Iron houses, and a quantity of forage should be
replaced and sent to the Colony without delay.
I have therefore to instruct you to incur no expenditure on this
account beyond that which is absolutely
necessary necessary pending the arrival of
the Stores from this Country.
