Sir,
I have the honor to request that you will acquaint Captain Gosset that Sixty seven pounds (£67) is due from him to the Naval Department on account of that sum's having been paid by the Admiralty for his passage from Ceylon toManuscript image Southampton in May 1858.
As it is very inconvenient that claims of this kind should remain outstanding, I have to request that Captain Gosset will forthwith pay the above mentioned sum into the Treasury Chest, and that you will report the same to me in order that the necessary steps may be taken to discharge this debt to the Naval Department.
