My Lord Duke,
I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your Grace's Despatch No. 37 of the 23rd December last, forwarding for my information copy of a letter from Colonel O'Connor, who contemplates settling Manuscript image settling in British Columbia, and in reference thereto, I beg to acquaint your Grace that I will afford every just facility to Colonel O'Connor in the purchase of land, and render him any service in my power to enable him to carry out his project of settling in British Columbia.
