I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of Your Grace's Despatch No 21, of the 4th of May last, conveying to me the Manuscript image the sanction of the Queen for the following Proclamations,
No 14 To facilitate the recovery of small debts.
No 15 To promote the formation of Joint Stock Companies.
No 16 To impose a Toll on goods carried from New Westminster.
2. I have also had the honor of receiving a Report by the Law Adviser of the Colonial Department on the two former of these Proclamations, which Your Manuscript image your Grace kindly caused to be enclosed for my information.
3. I have called the attention of Her Majesty's Attorney General to the subject of that Report, and he will take advantage of the kind assistance afforded, to amend the Proclamations, as therein suggested.
