Douglas writes to Newcastle to forward the official “Medical Certificate” required for Nind to return to England for a nine-month leave, for health reasons, as Douglas had reported in an earlier despatch.
The file includes Nind's certiticate of leave, signed by Douglas, and another certificate, signed by Cooper, which testifies to Nind's salary of £450 per annum, paid up to December 30, 1861. The final document is a draft reply from Newcastle to Douglas, which acknowledges receipt of Douglas's correspondence.

Certificate to Mr P.H. Nind, Assistant Gold Commissioner and
