With reference to your despatch No. 94 of
16th December,
I have the honor to forward a Copy of a Report from the Auditor
General explaining the reasons which have hitherto caused the
delay in bringing the
Revenue received by Collectors to account.
2. The subject, you will observe has already received the
attention of this Government. The complete system of keeping
the accounts as required by the "Instructions to Governors of
Colonies," was adopted in May 1865. This will, I trust, prevent
the recurrence of these delays.
