My Lord Duke,
I have had the honor to receive Your Grace's Circular despatch of the 18th December 1867 on the subject of Escheats to the Crown.
2. In reply I have to state that the Legislature of this Colony is not nowManuscript image in Session, but I can assure Your Grace that whenever it shall be called upon to deal with the subject of escheats advantage will be taken of the information Your Grace has been good enough to forward, to pass a satisfactory measure. Acting on Your Graces instructions I shall not feel it necessary to reserve the Ordinance for consideration.
